Terms of use

Short, because there is not much to agree to. Musette is free, invite-only, and run by one person.

Not a medical device

Musette is not a medical device and does not provide medical, dietary or clinical advice. It performs arithmetic on training and food data and describes the result. It is not a substitute for a physician, a registered dietitian or a qualified coach, and it has not been reviewed or approved by any regulator.

Do not use it to manage a medical condition. If you are pregnant, are a minor, have diabetes, a kidney or heart condition, an eating disorder, or any history of disordered eating, please speak to a clinician instead. Energy targets for endurance training are large, and a number that is right for a four-hour ride can be wrong and harmful in another context.

What you agree to

  • Use it for yourself. One account, one person. Do not resell it or use it to advise other people commercially.
  • Do not attack it. No scraping, no automated bulk access, no attempts to reach anyone else's data.
  • The figures are estimates. Food values come from standard reference tables, not from measuring the item in your kitchen. Ride energy is derived from your power meter or your device's own estimate. Treat all of it as a good starting point rather than a measurement.
  • Check what you eat. You are responsible for your own food, including allergens. Musette does not know what you are allergic to unless you tell it, and it can still be wrong.

What we agree to

  • No ads, no data sales. Ever, and not as a change of business model later.
  • Your data stays yours. Exportable and deletable by you at any time.
  • Honest failure. When something is broken or a number cannot be trusted, the app says so rather than showing a confident guess.

Availability and liability

Musette is provided as-is, with no warranty. It is a personal project run on a free hosting tier; it may be unavailable, and it may be discontinued. You would be given notice and a chance to export first. To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for any loss arising from use of the service — and nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Ending it

Delete your account in the app whenever you like; it takes effect immediately. An account may be suspended for the behaviour listed above, in which case you will be told why and given the chance to export your data.
